Roatan, Honduras

Roatan is a tough place to leave: white sandy beaches, palm trees, the deep blue clear Caribbean, and a very laid back Garifuna vibe. We spent a few (ehem, six) days chilling on the beach, swimming, snorkeling, and terrorizing the island on our hogs (this means we rented scooters). We even went scuba diving!

This one's for you, Laffey

On the way there, we met a very cool British couple, Mike and Katie, and we wound up splitting a cabin with a kitchen and deck. This was awesome because we were able to buy and cook our own food - finding places to eat all the time can get old, not to mention expensive. We spent our nights hanging out on the deck, playing games: we taught them Scribbage and they taught us a great new card game that we will be sure to keep playing during our travels. Despite their horrible teeth and constant blathering on about the Queen, they were very nice. (Note: on wherearekatieandmike.blogspot you can read how Julie and Dave were very nice save for the ugly shorts, Indiana Jones hats and giant cameras).

alright ,so we didn't cook and eat in every night

Divers use this board to document the funky fish they see.  Julie claimed she saw Ariel but they weren't havin' it.

Davey's got the bends...
